mark all forums read?

All forums appear as new – is there a way to clear this for everyone so starting fresh with the new plugin, forums will only be marked new when a new thread is posted?

I think what’s going on is any forum associated to a buddypress group (I’m using bbPress, not BuddyPress Forums) always shows as unread. Topics within a forum seem to appear fine.
