# Markup Validation HTML – Cannot Encode properly

 * Hello WP!
    Okay so my site [http://www.hola-china.net/wordpress](http://www.hola-china.net/wordpress)
   looks fine, that is until you open it in IE- then it looks like a cat through
   a shredder.
 * SO.. I went ahead and tried to validate it- and this comes out:
 * > Sorry, I am unable to validate this document because on line 297 it contained
   > one or more bytes that I cannot interpret as utf-8 (in other words, the bytes
   > found are not valid values in the specified Character Encoding). Please check
   > both the content of the file and the character encoding indication.The error
   > was: utf8 “\xE1” does not map to Unicode
 * [
    Err.. what? I’ve tried searching for this an no luck- any ideas?
