 * Hello,
    My website is being visited hundreds of times each second from different
   IPs which I believe are bots. The WF live logs show the 404 URLs something like
   what you can see in this screenshot [https://snipboard.io/gAYCt9.jpg](https://snipboard.io/gAYCt9.jpg)
 * However, I never have/had those pages on my website anytime. But still since
   one month this thing started to happen.
 * I have already had settings turned on in WF which should block any bot if a 404s
   is called.
 * What more should I do to get rid of those bots?
 * Can I block those bots using .htaccess and/Or WAF on the server?
 * Please let me know with the codes I should put.

 * Hi [@mksit](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mksit/)
 * You can use the **_Rate Limiting_** rules for this:

 * [@wfphil](https://wordpress.org/support/users/wfphil/) I think you didn’t get
   what I already have mentioned in the OP.
 * I already have rate limited crawlers for the 404 not found calls. And the setting
   set by me is block if 404 calls exceed one per minute.
 * But, still i am getting those 4o4 not found. Those pages/post were never be the
   part of my site.
 * So, can you tell me any better solution? Also, do I have any potential risk if
   those bots are continuously visiting my site??

 * Hi [@mksit](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mksit/)
 * Thank you for the update.
 * As the IP addresses keep changing then blocking those is unlikely to help. You
   could try a User Agent blocking rule if the User Agent is not generic that would
   lead to the blocking of legitimate people:
