# Massive CPU usage?

 * My hosting account is up to 500MB CPU usage in just a few days (on shared hosting).
   It’s a new installation of WordPress with Buddypress and BBpress and a few other
   basic apps. But no real content or visitors. I have had some spam accounts. I’ve
   never seen this happen before?
 * Has anyone ever experienced this?

 * This could be that the shared hosted server (specifically yours) is overloaded
   and is causing issues.
 * You may want to contact them firstly and see what’s going on with their end.
 * Keep me posted, would like to make sure this gets resolved for you.

 * Thank you David – I will contact them now (GoDaddy). Sorry, I made one mistake,
   it is the memory, not the CPU that is hitting limits.

 * I added a new spam plugin. The spam registrations have now stopped and the memory
   seems to be stable. So probably was that.
