 * Hi [@mingewang](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mingewang/),
 * According to the information, I have explained why some math equations work and
   others do not. Please check the following details:
    - `\( x^2 \)` works
    - `$$ x^2 $$` works
    - `$ x^2 $` does **not** render correctly
 * This usually happens because inline math enclosed in single `$ ... $` is not
   enabled by default in some MathJax or KaTeX configurations. Many LMS platforms,
   including **Masteriyo LMS** and other WordPress setups, allow only certain formats:
    - `\( ... \)` for inline equations
    - `$$ ... $$` for display (block) equations
 * I hope this information helps.
 * Best Regards!

 * Ah, thanks!
   The only thing is in your documents it said it supports $…$.

 * Hi [@mingewang](https://wordpress.org/support/users/mingewang/),
 * Thank you for the information.
 * We have also noticed that the documentation needs to be updated, and we will
   update it soon. We believe the confusion regarding the equation is now clear.
   Therefore, we will mark this topic as resolved. If needed, you can reopen the
   topic at any time.
 * Best regards!
