# Maximum Post Text Length

 * I am trying to limit the text length of each post as some are getting way too
   much text and making the site look bad.
 * I am using this in the shortcode:
 * `posts_displayed=page_only type=page num=3 height=200px textlength=200`
 * However it isn’t taking any notice of the height or the textlength.
 * I have checked the footer and I can see that wp_footer() is there.
 * This is a child theme based on Genesis also.
 * I can’t share the link as it isn’t on a live site.
 * Is there anything else I can check?

 * Hey Nick,
 * The `posts_displayed`shortcode option isn’t a valid shortcode option in our plugin.
   Also, ‘page’ isn’t a valid parameter for the `type`option you’re using. Where
   are you getting those shortcode options from? Are you using a different Facebook
   plugin? The full list of the shortcode options for our plugin are [here](https://smashballoon.com/custom-facebook-feed/docs/shortcodes/).
   To limit the text length you can simply use the built in option on the plugin’s
   Customize page under the Typography tab, otherwise the `textlength`option you’re
   using should also work.
