# MC4WP subscription error

 * Hi,
 * I am new to Mailchimp and am trying to use a subscription sign-up with my WP 
   theme (Eduma). I am getting the ‘Oops…..’ error when testing this. Have generated
   and connected the API Key, and the form code is <input type=”email” id=”mc4wp_email”
   name=”EMAIL” placeholder=”Your email here” required /><input type=”submit” value
   =”Subscribe” />
    in the Debug Log I get the following:

 * Most probably I just need to change something in the setup, but I am lost as 
   to what. Please help. Thank you!
 * This form is on the home page of [https://projectmanagementforkids.com.au](https://projectmanagementforkids.com.au)–
   as I have note yet launched the website the URL is currently protected with a
   password.

 * Can you please go to the “MC4WP” menu in your WordPress admin, click on the “
   Renew MailChimp Lists” button and test the form again?

 * Hi Harish,
    Thank you for your reply. I renewed the list as per your instructions,
   but still get the same error message (Oops. Something went wrong. Please try 
   again later.). What else can we try? I really need this to work before launching
   the site.

 * For anyone reading along, turned out the form ID in the shortcode to show the
   form was different from the form ID that was being edited. Replacing the ID in
   the shortcode with the correct ID for the form solved the issue.
