Media button missing for Editor role

    I have read multiple threads on this Forum about disabling all plugins and then enabling all of them to determine if a plugin is causing the problem. Not sure why someone thinks this is a solution considering WP was recently updated and everything worked just fine under the prior version. So, with WP 4.3.1, the Media button is not visible for the Editor Role. Here is the WP release info and curious if the *privilege escalation* change has caused other problems.

    Hi there,

    The reason people ask you to temporarily deactivate plugins and switch to a default theme is because there’s a possibility other code is causing the issue. That’s always a good step to take to eliminate possible conflicts.

    I just tested an editor user on WP 4.3.1 and I can see the media library and the add media button on new posts. It sounds like you have a conflict or something going on. Definitely time to try the deactivate thing to see.

    Yeah, I understand the reasoning but it’s not always the cause. I created a new user with Editor Role and it too doesn’t show the Media icon.

    I just installed a fresh instance of WP 4.3.1 and all of the same plugins used in production except for 1 – All In One Security plugin – and so far no conflicts with the Editor user role. Sometime next week I will install the latest version of All In One Security and see if that is causing the problem.
