 * I’ve previously used Jetpack successfully but, on trying to install on a new
   blog setup, it killed my little website. Hogged a huge amount of memory and spawned
   unhappy error messages. Couldn’t access dashboard interface until I deleted the
   plugin. I always wondered why my previous blog setup was slower than desired…
   I used to blame it on modified themes or lagging servers. Now I strongly suspect
   it was Jetpack all along.

 * I think I have the same problem with my website. Could you please describe how
   you managed to delete the plugin without access to the dashboard?
    Thank you!

 * Hi Lavisch, I simply deleted the whole folder from my directory via FTP. It’s
   under `wp-content > plugins > jetpack`. Hope that helps! 🙂

 * Thanks for the feedback!
 * If you’re willing to give Jetpack another try, you can then activate and deactivate
   modules by going to Jetpack > Settings in your dashboard, as explained here:

   [http://jetpack.me/support/activate-and-deactivate-modules/](http://jetpack.me/support/activate-and-deactivate-modules/)
 * It’s also a good first step when experiencing performance issues: you can deactivate
   each module, one at a time, until you find the module that slows down your site.
   If you can narrow the problem down to a specific module, do not hesitate to let
   me know!
