# Menu problems

 * My server crashed and was restored after several very long hours, but I am having
   weird issues now on my site. When users clicked on any menu bar item they received
   a page not found error.
 * So I went in to the Custom Menus section and there was NOTHING listed in either
   the Page Top menu, or my Category bar!
 * I have attempted to add pages (or categories) back to their respective menus 
   but all it adds is a “Pending” item. If I try to fill in the information for 
   whatever item, and save the menu, it saves the menu – but it’s totally empty 
   again.
 * Any clues???

 * HI Esmi, I’m checking with my host. My most recent database backup is from last
   Thursday (3/1) and I’ve added a couple of posts since then. Will let you know
   when I hear if they have anything more recent than that. Thanks for your help,
   most appreciated.

 * Hi Esmi, my site has been restored. Whew.
 * The WP database had a corrupted table in it containing the category data so the
   menu function couldn’t find its contents. Once the DB was repaired, everything
   came back to normal.
 * I guess when the server had the filesystem error, in the repair process for that
   my DB became corrupted. I have no idea how that happened, and neither does my
   hosting company, but the net result is a more rigorous backup system for me personally.
   So that’s a very good thing.
