# Message error validation in foreign language

 * Hello,
    I just upgraded to WordPress 4.1 and Contact Form 7, 4.0.3 but since 
   this upgrade the validation error message by obligatory field are coming all 
   in english instead of my customized error messages in french. Is this possible
   to change this behavior ? what’s going wrong ?

 * I don’t know how you’d got the “customized error messages in french”. To get

 * Thank you for you quick reply and also your great plug-in.
    I know how the customized
   error messages are working and it was working fine before the upgrade indead.
   Trying to be more clear: 1) I go to admin page of my contact form, I check the
   error message for example: “Message obligatoire” for required field. 2) I test
   the form without entering the required Text. An the message displayed for the
   field is not “Message obligatoire” but “This is a required field”. The system
   doesn’t use the customized field validation message.

 * I did a downgrade to the previous version of Contact Form (3.8) and I had the
   same problem. So it seems to be related to the upgrade I did to WordPress 4.1.

 * Try deactivating the [Jquery Validation For Contact Form 7](https://wordpress.org/plugins/jquery-validation-for-contact-form-7/)
   which you’re using on the site.

 * I deactivated it and now it works fine. It was a plug-in, I installed just to
   try extra validation….I didn’t really need it.
