 * “I’m in the process of migrating my site, but despite compressing it, it’s only
about 250MB. However, the restore process fails due to insufficient space on
the new server. I think my new site has enough capacity since it’s 1GB in size.
Is there a reason for this and a solution?”

 * Hello jemarin33,
 * Seems like you have some binary-broken files, we can’t read and store them in
   ZIP.
For such cases, we have prepared different backup methods that will automatically
detect such files and exclude them dynamically.
 * Please open the first section of the plugin named: “What will be backed up?”

Find a subsection named: “Exclude by folder/file name (case-sensitive)”Here add
these three rules, like on the image: [https://prnt.sc/9oftADPd_Z7e](https://prnt.sc/9oftADPd_Z7e)
 * Once you do that, please follow these steps:
    1. Go to the “Other options” section
    2. Change backup method: [https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa](https://prnt.sc/1s1ofpa)
    3. Disable PHP CLI checking: [https://prnt.sc/1sljr31](https://prnt.sc/1sljr31)
    4. Save the “Other options” section
    5. Force stop both processes: [https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm](https://prnt.sc/1trv1tm)
 * When you do that, try to run your backup once again.
 * If that won’t work it may mean you don’t have enough space to make the backup.

Even if it says that there is enough, it may not be true. Some host providers,
shared or cloud may display incorrect values.
 * Let me know if that works for you 🙂
   Thank you!

 * Hi MixHA.
 * Following your instructions, I changed the options and tried to execute, but
   it didn’t work as expected.
 * Upon closer examination, I realized that the server lacked the necessary space
for migration. I expanded the capacity in the cloud and successfully completed
the task. However, while my original website’s total size was around 750MB, it
seemed that about twice as much space was needed for the migration process. In
reality, after completing the transfer, the final capacity of the new server
was 750MB. It seems that about twice the space was needed for buffering operations
   during the migration.
 * From this experience, I’ve learned the importance of having ample disk space
on the new server before attempting the migration, despite being warned beforehand.
However, using professional versions or other migration options may help avoid
   such inconveniences.
 * Thank you for your detailed response.

 * Hey [@jemarin33](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jemarin33/) ,
 * In the backup method you used, such things shouldn’t happen, you should’ve received
   an error window.
My assumption is that free space returned from the server, does
not give real value and you don’t have enough space for the backup.
 * Based on the output you received, it actually may be the case.
   Because of that,
there may be not enough space to write the final batches to the ZIP file.
 * To confirm that could you please perform these steps:
    1. Make one backup:
       – Without database– With Plugins+Themes+Other files in the
       wp-content directory only
    2. If it succeeds download that backup to your PC and remove it from the server,
       then make a second backup:
       – Exclude database as well– With the Uploads directory
       only
    3. Same thing there, download it and remove it from the server, and make last third
       backup:
       – With database only– Without any files included
 * If these three succeed, you can restore them one by one and in the same order,
database at the end with that approach the restoration or migration will be still
   valid.
 * I hope that your Uploads directory takes less than 50% of the entire size, then
it should be completely fine if my assumption is right.
 * Let me know if that worked 🙂
   Thank you!
