 * I recently began the process to try to migrate my events to 6.0. However it never
   ends. I even let it run overnight and nothing. I have followed all of the steps
   given in the Migration Troubleshooting page. I have only a few plugins running
   on my website including a Maintenance plugin, Code Snippets, and WP SMTP so it
   can send me system emails. I turned off caching both via plugin and at the hosting
   level. It just never seems to move.
 * I did notice in the Scheduled Actions, it seems to be looping through things
   over and over. I see actions going from pending to completed but I see the same
   actions multiple times. See snippet below. I’m not sure what to do next.
 * Note: Before moving over to start this migration, we moved hosts so we have new
   imported databases. I wonder if that is affecting anything.

 * Hi there,
 * Thanks for reaching out so we could help. And thanks for including so much info!
 * Is it the migration preview that’s stalling out, or the migration itself? I it’s
   the preview, please try using a snippet to skip the preview as described [here](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/migrating/#stuck-preview).
 * Please check out your debug log and look for any anomalies there. In particular
   search for the string “generated an error” as sometimes that can point to the
   ID of an event that has corrupted data and is stalling out the process.
 * When you look at Scheduled Actions, are any of them Failed? That could also point
   to events that are problematic.
 * It’s possible that your database change could impact the migration. Please go
   to Events > Settings > Troubleshooting and look at your System Information. It
   would be helpful for me to know what it says under _Custom Tables Migration Status_
   and _Custom Tables Health Check_ ([example](https://loom.com/i/a71655975a394e859aab4a5d10070b06)).
 * Thanks for working with me on this! I’ll keep an eye out for your reply.
 * Best,
 * Leah

 * The issue happens with both the preview and the actual migration. I was already
   using the snippet to skip the preview after it stalled.
 * I have seen nothing in the error logs. The scheduled actions, I have seen a handful
   fail out of the over 1000 that have completed. The numbers that failed have also
   completed. How do I map the failed ID back to the event ID? In case those are
   having issues.
 * As for the health check, my migration shows in progress (though I canceled it
   the night before) and tables check is good.
 * Edit: Went in and force canceled the migration via the one time snippet as actions
   were still pending 2 days later. That finally canceled the in-progress. Now site
   health shows:

 * Hi [@cdancer20](https://wordpress.org/support/users/cdancer20/)
 * Thanks for your response.
 * Could you try the following before re-running the migration again? I suggest
   conducting the following on a [Staging Server](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/creating-and-using-a-wordpress-staging-site)
   first.
    - Make sure that [WP_Cron](https://developer.wordpress.org/plugins/cron/) is
      enabled. Some hosts disable WP_Cron by default.
    - Activate only our plugins and ensure you have the latest versions.
    - Install and activate a basic theme (e.g. [WP’s 2020 theme](https://wordpress.org/themes/twentytwenty/))
    - Remove any un-needed draft events and empty the Trash
    - Go to Events > Settings > Upgrades and go through the migration process again.
 * See other[ tips here for a smooth migration.](https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/k/migrating/#tips)
 * If that doesn’t help, could you provide the version of the following? This will
   help me understand how your system is set up.
    - PHP
    - WordPress
    - The Events Calendar
    - Theme

 * I was finally able to fix this issue. Turns out that I had hosed database after
   migrating from a different host. I wasn’t able to upload images or create new
   posts. I was able to fix the database via instructions here – [https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/225641/wordpress-database-lost-auto-increment](https://wordpress.stackexchange.com/questions/225641/wordpress-database-lost-auto-increment)
 * Once I fixed that, the migration went through without any issues. So now this
   issue is resolved.
