• The main plugin is fine, but restoration and migration should really only be used in a last resort.

I had a very specific instance in which I was unable to migrate manually. Let me be clear, IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES YOU SHOULD NOT USE A PLUGIN TO MIGRATE. They cause way, way more problems than they solve. I was facing a peculiar, unusual circumstance that prohibited migration through any other way.

The migration plugin is very, very far from perfect, or even good. But it is somewhat functional, which is more than I can say for any other one of the migration plugins I tried (part of this may be because my site is very large… others may work on small sites). So it was necessary and, thanks to their support, came through in the end.

Luckily, support is very good. My first query was not responded to appropriately, but afterward, the plugin staff provided excellent, amazing, and very responsive support. I only wish they had fixed these issues in the plugin and clarified the instructions so that it would not have been needed.

    Hi Danielle / Josh,

I understand that you are frustrated – but this is a very hard review to understand.

You posted a support ticket in our system today at 8.58 pm, our time (which, as I write, is 2 hours 21 minutes ago) – a support ticket with only 4 words in the description of you problem. This was followed by in our support forum for the first time at 9.00pm today, our time (which as I write, is 2 hours 19 minutes ago). I replied 2 minutes later, at 9.02pm, seeking clarification on your question.

You then posted a follow up to my post with more information at 10.50pm (29 minutes ago), followed by filing a new support ticket 12 minutes later at 11.02pm (17 minutes ago), and then a new one at 11.03pm (16 minutes ago).

Precisely 6 minutes later, at 11.09pm (now 10 minutes ago), you have posted this review, saying that “support has been non-existent”. Screenshot: http://snag.gy/y0uio.jpg

I find it hard to understand how failing to reply to you within a few minutes gains us a rating of 1-star, with the claim that our support is “non-existent”.

I would have been happy to have helped you so that you could join the many thousands of happy customers who have successfully used our “Migrator” add-on without issues, but you appear to have decided that you have reached the end of the road. This review appear to be your parting shot, before I have had a chance to reply to your support request of only a few minutes ago.

I understand that you are frustrated, but falsely telling people that there is no support, within minutes of filing your support request, is quite unwarranted. Especially when, in fact, I responded to you within 4 minutes the first time, and it is now only a few minutes since your follow-up.

I will refund your order for you now, and wish you well in your future site-building.

    Best wishes,
    David

    Hi Josh,

I hope you are having a good day! After posting this review, you tried some of our competitors, which failed, and came back and re-purchased the Migrator add-on – which, with some prompt help from our support, did the job for you on your 6 gigabyte site. Please could you update your review accordingly?

    Best wishes,
    David

Is there an option to do so? I only see the ability to write a follow-up, by posting here.

    Hi Josh,

You can change the star-rating by clicking on a different number of stars back on the plugin page: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/updraftplus/

I think that gives the change to change the original review too. I’ve certainly seen people who changed their review, even a year later.

    e.g.
    link for 5 stars: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/view/plugin-reviews/updraftplus?rate=5#postform

    Best wishes,
    David
