Minified javascript and CSS and WordPress category icons changed

I’m super new at working with WordPress or making sites so excuse me for not knowing the actual name of the category icons. After installing W3 and adding the JS and CSS scripts listed that needed fixing according to Google PageSpeed plugin, everything loaded fast except the icons for search, recent posts, categories, tags, and meta were change to something generic.

Any help? Keep in mind I’m a newb at editing themes if that’s needed.
