 * By default Apache loads lots of modules. If you are running only WordPress based
   websites on your VPS / Server, you should consider disabling un-needed Apache
   modules. This will save lots of memory and optimize server.
 * Please explain minimum Apache modules which is required to run WordPress websites
   only.

 * Hi Keith
 * As you can see there is a long list of Apache modules. I tried to disable first
   one (access_compat) and my sites stopped working.
 * In WordPress requirements they say WP need only mod_rewrite Apache module. As
   I tested that is not correct.

 * I wonder such an important question and few replies, however, In my opinion, 
   mod_rewrite is must but you should also need these Apache modules[expires, alias,
   headers, deflate, filter, mime, setenvif, authz_host, dir, autoindex, negotiation]
   if using extensive caching plugins.
