# Missing brand mapping

 * Hello there!
    I’m using Brands set as attributes. I noticed that on my feed only
   half of the products are properly mapped with the g:brand field. I tried to use
   both PA (Custom Attribute) and Brand (dynamic attribute), but nothing works.
   I double checked the products that are properly mapped and the ones that are
   not, and they are set exactly the same way. Is there a way to troubleshoot this?
   Thanks a lot.

 * Hi Irenella,
 * Thanks for using our plugin and reaching out to us.
 * Are the products for which it works “simple” products and the ones it does not“
   variable / variation” products perhaps?

 * That’s what I thought at a first glance but unfortunately not, i have variable
   products that recalls g:brand perfectly, and others that are simple products
   that don’t. So it’s quite random i guess. I also tried to set up “use in variations”
   for the brand attribute, but nothing changes.

 * There really must be **something** different between the products that do show
   the brand and the ones that don’t.
 * You mention this:
 * > I also tried to set up “use in variations” for the brand attribute,
 * . That is correct, those need to be set otherwise the brand will not show for
   your variations.

 * I really checked carefully and nothing is different between those products…

 * Our plugin treats any product exactly the same so when they are configured identically
   the plugin will behave exactly identical when it comes to retrieving attribute
   values, such as brands.
 * Can you send me your **product feed URL** and **plugin debug.log URL**? Perhaps
   there is something we notice in it. This is how you can retrieve the debug.log
   URL: [https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/](https://adtribes.io/send-your-debug-log-to-support/)

 * Yes, here it is:

 * You can check for example this item, that i made sure it has flagged “Use in
   variations” for attributes: “Camicia alla coreana in Cotone Seersuker” size 24m(
   other sizes are ok)
 * Thanks a lot!

 * The sizes 3 anni, 4 anni and 6 anni are all variations of one product variable
   product with the product ID 12463.
 * The size 24 mesi is a completely different product with the product ID 12488.
 * Now I did find a difference between the two though.
 * 12463 only has a brand filled in underneath the Informazioni aggiuntive section.

   [https://www.dropbox.com/s/9b83h9cahwbc117/brand-once.png?dl=0](https://www.dropbox.com/s/9b83h9cahwbc117/brand-once.png?dl=0)
 * 12488 has brand filled in underneath the Informazioni aggiuntive AND higher on
   the page, so twice

 * So there is a difference between the two. I suggest you try configuring them
   identically so the brand shows only in the Informazioni aggiuntive section

 * Hello, and thank you for your answer. I Have a doubt: if I have a variable products,
   that varies just for – let’s say – size, do I need to set “use in variation”
   as well? The brand itself is not a variable attribute.

 * Yes, if you would like it to show for your variations in your feed you need to
   so so.
