 * Hello,
 * I am creating a new site with WP Job Manager and a number of addons. However,
   I noticed that it was not possible to access WPJM-specific fields that are available
   in another site that has WPJM installed. I don’t know if it’s because of updates,
   but the same addons and the same plugins are used between the two sites. Specifically
   the following WPJM related plugins and addons are activated on both sites (with
   versions on the existing site and the new site):
    - WP Job Manager (1.41.0)
    - WPJM Alerts (1.5.4 & 1.6.0)
    - WPJM Application Deadline (1.2.5 & 1.2.6)
    - WPJM Applications (2.5.2 & 3.0.0)
    - WPJM Bookmarks (1.4.2 & 1.4.3)
    - WPJM Job Tags (1.4.2 & 1.4.4)
    - WPJM Resume Manager (1.18.4 & 1.19.0)
    - WPJM WooCommerce Paid Listings (2.9.4 & 2.9.9)
    - Regions for WPJM (1.18.2)
 * I am trying to create custom search pages using the Search & Filter Pro plugin.
   These are the existing meta keys in the new site:
    - _applying_for_job_id
    - _candidate_education
    - _candidate_email
    - _candidate_experience
    - _candidate_location
    - _candidate_name
    - _candidate_photo
    - _candidate_title
    - _candidate_video
    - _job_listing_duration
    - _job_listing_featured
    - _job_listing_limit
    - _resume_content
    - _resume_duration
    - _resume_featured
    - _resume_file
    - _resume_limit
    - _resume_name_prefix
    - _resume_skills
 * When reviewing the existing site (with some outdated addons), these meta keys
   are there in addition to the above:
    - _application
    - _application_deadline
    - _company_name
    - _company_tagline
    - _company_twitter
    - _company_video
    - _company_website
    - _job_deadline
    - _job_description
    - _job_edited
    - _job_expires
    - _job_location
    - _job_salary
    - _job_salary_currency
    - _job_salary_unit
    - _job_tags
    - _job_title
    - _resume_edited
    - _resume_edited_original_status
    - _resume_expires
    - _resume_view_counts
 * Why are there different sets of meta keys available and why do newer versions
   of the addons have fewer meta keys to choose from? This makes me afraid to update
   the addons and just revert back to previous ones, but I wanted to check with
   you guys first. I was specifically looking to use _job_deadline and _job_location.
 * Thanks,
   Brandon

 * The extra meta keys might be related to the WorkScout theme. However, I tried
   to see if I could install it on the new site just to see if I can get the meta
   keys back and it didn’t work – although I didn’t import the demo content or activate
   recommended plugins that didn’t seem immediately relevant. It messed up my widgets
   but it didn’t install the extra meta keys, not that it was guaranteed to solve
   the issue anyhow. So many missing meta keys from the core plugin though!

 * Hi there [@indigetal](https://wordpress.org/support/users/indigetal/)
 * Thanks for contacting us.
 * Please note that we do not provide support for third-party WPJM addons (plugins
   or themes).
 * For configuration and customization issues related to third-party add-ons like
   the `Search and Filtering for WP Job Manager` or `WorkScout`, it’s advised that
   you reach out to the authors of the plugin themselves[ here](https://plugins.smyl.es/wp-job-manager-search-and-filtering?is-descendent-of-single-product-block=false>m4wp_id=213037>m4wp_name=Search+and+Filtering+for+WP+Job+Manager>m4wp_sku=213037>m4wp_category=3rd+party>m4wp_price=49>m4wp_stocklevel=)
   and [here](https://purethemes.net/workscout/?is-descendent-of-single-product-block=false>m4wp_id=16075>m4wp_name=WorkScout>m4wp_sku=16075>m4wp_category=3rd+party>m4wp_price=79>m4wp_stocklevel=)
   respectively.
 * Having said that, if you suspect you are getting varying results depending on
   which plugin is installed on your site or not, you might want to consider conducting
   a full plugin/theme conflict as outlined here: [https://wpjobmanager.com/document/basic-troubleshooting/](https://wpjobmanager.com/document/basic-troubleshooting/)
 * If you are facing issues related to [our core add-ons](https://wpjobmanager.com/product-category/core-add-ons/)
   and have a valid license for them, you can open a dedicated support ticket with
   us here: [https://wpjobmanager.com/support/](https://wpjobmanager.com/support/)
 * Hope this helps! Let us know how it turns out!

 * Hi Joseph,
 * I mention those third-party plugins and themes for context, not because they
   are related to the issue at hand. However, that is yet to be seen. I did contact
   WorkScout and they did get back to me to point out that those meta-keys are coming
   from the WPJM addons, Resume Manager and WC Paid Listings – not WorkScout. I
   changed the theme to Twenty Twenty-Three and deactivated all unrelated plugins
   in order to test if there is a plugin or theme conflict, but the meta keys did
   not re-appear after doing that.
 * I will contact Search & Filter Pro to see if they are able to figure out what
   might be happening, but as I said, it is VERY premature to claim where the issue
   is coming from. However, it seems to also be true that it’s very wonky behavior
   as well and I’m having a hard time figuring it out! Maybe it has something to
   do with the multisite network configuration… I don’t know yet, do you know anything
   about that?
 * In any case, I will update you when I figured it out, but I did want to see if
   anybody over there might have any insights while I continue to track down the
   issue.

 * I figured it out. It was the weirdest thing, I needed to publish a job listing
   on the cloned site to get all the missing meta keys back. The site was cloned
   from another site that had test job listings previously published, but even though
   they were all expired the meta keys remained. I didn’t expect that WP Job Manager
   creates or populates certain meta keys only when the first job listing is published,
   while others are created when the WPJM or its addons are first activated. You
   really need to know how meta keys work to know what’s going on!
 * Cheers,
   Brandon

 * Hi [@indigetal](https://wordpress.org/support/users/indigetal/),
 * That sounds quite tricky–thank you for sharing it with us! I’m sure other users
   who run into a similar issue will appreciate this information 🙂
