 * i am getting NO Notification emails at all when a new Member is added.

   _WP Membership -> Settings -> Email Settings_** in the plugins admin panel?

 * an update.
 * it seems the prob was that it was not actually creating the Member.
 * i now see small message about WP username conflict, so i fixed that and now i
   got notifications.
 * i think i will turn off WP User sync
