This happens at the moment so that we can control the loading of the thumbs via javascript. * I have been playing around with this to see if it is possible to include a src attribute that points to a 1×1 transparent gif. It seems to work, so we will release a setting in an update that will allow you to turn this on if you want to be 100% valid HTML. I then need to wrap this functionality in a setting so that it can be enabled.
