 * I am new to WordPress and am taking over a blog that someone else started <arrafting.
   com/blog/>. I am logged in as admin but noticed there seems to be missing tabs
   in the left column. Currently there are only Posts, Media, Links, Pages, Comments,
   Profile and Tools. I am looking for Appearance, Plugins, User and Settings. I
   just upgraded from version 3.0.2 to 3.3.2 hoping that might solve the problem
   but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated. – Thanks, Kevin

 * Are you sure you logged in as Admin not other user group?

 * I thought I was. The site is hosted by FatCow and after logging into the server
   I go to “SimpleScripts/My Installs” and there is a link called “Admin Login”
   which then takes me to the WordPress login page, then to my dashboard. Is there
   a way to know once logged in whether I am logged on as Admin or a user group?–
   Thanks!

 * Using Phpmyadmin (or another MySQL management tool), first backup your database.
   Then navigate to your wp_usermeta table and locate the meta_key called “_wp\_capabilities_”
   for your user_id. Change the meta-value for this record to:
 * `a:1:{s:13:"administrator";b:1;}`

 * OK, I found wp_capabilities and it currently has a value of a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;
   s:1:”1″;}
 * I also noticed further down on the list the name and nickname that I have been
   logging on with. So just to be sure, I will change a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;
   s:1:”1″;} to a:1:{s:13:”administrator”;b:1;}
 * After that will I still use the same user/password info to logon?

 * My bad – when I reread your post I got it and it worked perfectly and I now have
   the other tabs. Thanks!
