Missing Temporary Folder error- on 1&1.com host

    I am trying to upload images (for the background etc.) and to upload small files, like pictures but I keep getting “Missing Temporary Folder” errors.
    There is folders being created for June 2014 but they don’t seem to be available for use to upload anything.
    I searched for the solution but nothing has worked. I tried creating /tmp and /temp folders everywhere I could think of, and also looking for (but not finding) the php.ini file. So I could not think of or see any other solutions. If anyone could tell me how to fix this it would be great.

    Yes. My provider 1&1, switched to now providing support and a ‘1-click’ setup option for WordPress. So, I setup a new ‘installation’ using the 1-click system. There are still a few issues I have to resolve, like file size limits, but for the most part it’s fixed.
