Hey guys, can you pretty please test your updates before releasing them in the future. My websites have been completely ruined by this latest buggy update and I need to remove my mobile menu altogether. And I see I’m not the only one.

I’m disappointed as this plugin has worked flawlessly for months. But now my sites are suddenly broken, you can’t navigate anymore and it’s extremely confusing. The icons have all changed to weird symbols and when you click on them nothing happens.

I’ll need to install a new mobile menu plugin until this is fixed because people can’t use my websites like this, but I love this plugin and have upgraded my account on my main WordPress site so I wish I did not have to do that. Please help!

    Kind Regards,
    Matt.

    Agree!

Also, seeing a bug on the overlay color. When you have the overlay a darker color, and when you open the menu, the menu header also turns black. Looks pretty bad. Please see screen shot below.

I just went into my host’s file manager and rolled back the plugin directory files to the previous version that was working fine. And I’ll wait to upgrade until a few more releases when the complaints die down and the author fixes the app. These updates do not appear to be too clean and they clearly messed up a bunch of sites, including mine.

    Hey @mjslabosz and @sgclark,

I apologize for any issue, I work alone to provide this software and since I did significant changes in the code structure I spent almost a week doing tests so it isn’t true that we didn’t tested it.

I don’t have beta testers or other sites that I can test so it’s difficult to cover every possible scenario.

Regarding the issues, those appeared with the latest 2.7.4.1 version? Did you try to purge the browser cache?

@sgclark regarding your screenshot, since the overlay it’s a bit transparent(you can adjust that in the color options) you can see the other colors below. Or the color of that header below it’s also changing?

Will need the site URL, if necessary send email to [support AT wpmobilemenu DOT com]

Once again apologize for any issue that I may have caused with the update.

p.s- If it’s necessary to revert you can always download the previous version in this link

yes i can. but why? There is one problem for everyone after the update, why create a bunch of identical topics and then write the same answer in all topics.

It’s on the support forum guidelines the forum moderator will do it if we don’t, and it’s easier for the developers to provide support.

@mjslabosz Let me know when you can how it’s the current situation on your sites so can I help you out.

It was released the version 2.7.4.2 during the day.

Hey Rui, that’s all good man I totally understand. I didn’t mean to sound rude or imply that you aren’t doing your best. I also work completely alone on my website and spent hundreds of hours getting it to function perfectly and so when my main menu broke it freaked me out a bit as I’m sure you understand haha.

My site is completely un-navigable without your plugin on Mobile so for the past few days it appeared my site wasn’t working for mobile viewers, and as that accounts for 60% of my traffic it was very troubling.

I apologize for not doing more work to try to troubleshoot it on my end but because the site was broken across all my devices and multiple people were experiencing problems I assumed it was the plugin that broke.

After your suggestion I re-enabled the plugin and did some testing today and it appears to indeed be a browser caching issue. When I open my site on an Incognito tab the menu works perfectly again. But when I open it on any device that has visited my site before the menu is all bugged out.

The menu icons change to either squares with crosses through them or ticks with circles around them (even though I have set it to the regular 3 line icon), and none of the links work. They don’t do anything when you tap on them, and when the menu opens the title bar at the top disappears. Lots of weird bugs.

Anyway I guess I’ll just have to hope that my previous website users clear their browser caches and that the site isn’t broken for them for too long.

Thanks for the fast reply and I really do appreciate your hard work. I know how hard it is to test a major update on your own and I apologize for not giving you the benefit of the doubt in that regard!

Good luck with future development and thanks for your help.

    Kind regards,
    Matt

By the way, my site is https://zenandtheartoftrading.com/ if that helps at all. I will mark this as resolved because after clearing my browser cache it now works fine. But I am still concerned about the users that have visited my site before. It will still be broken for them, so I may roll back my version for a while after some more testing.

Anyway thanks again for the support Rui! I appreciate it.

    Kind regards,
    Matt

@mjslabosz Thanks for words, I just wanted to explain in my first that I did put considerable time in testing but it’s not easy to 100% of the situations.

    I’m glad it’s sorted now.
