# Moving hosted wordpress.com to wordpress.org

 * I am hoping someone can help! I have a wordpress.com site (shankell.com) and 
   I want to move it to wordpress.org. I am having a very hard time figuring out
   a simple way to do this in layman’s terms. Can someone assit me?

 * That article also explains how to do it yourself – you need to export your content
   and then import to your new site. You’ll also have to set up a theme on the new
   site — note that the same theme may not always be identical between .COM and .
   ORG.
