 * I want to move my wordpress installation from `/wordpress/` to `/`
 * I found this tutorial: [http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/](http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/site-url/)
   (
podz, you are a genius) but I’m concerned that the rest of my site (which is
static) will be unavailable because wordpress won’t understand the URLs.
 * I’m also unsure as to what the difference is between ‘site_url’ and ‘home’.

 * I think your links got nixed, regardless, you are correct, moving WP into your
root directory where static html files live will create some problems. You may
want to look for the many options in converting your static html into Pages,
if the content is all the same. If not, you may want to rethink your move.

 * I was giving the URLs relative to my domain: [http://beingmrkenny.co.uk/wordpress/](http://beingmrkenny.co.uk/wordpress/)(
where it’s installed — interestingly, this doesn’t work!) and [http://beingmrkenny.co.uk/](http://beingmrkenny.co.uk/)(
   where it shows up).
 * I guess I’m just being finickity about it. The whole thing works fine, 2.0 fixed
the incorrect `<link href="">` to the xmlrpc or whatever it’s called. I’ll probably
   leave it.
 * What is the difference between ‘site_url’ and ‘home’, by the way?

 * I’m not sure where you are getting ‘home’ from. Blog address is what you want
people to type in their browser to find you. Site URI is the physical directory
where the installation lives. It sounds as if you are already taking advantage
   of that feature.

 * Also, `siteurl` is your WordPress address (URI) and `home` is your Blog Address(
   URI) as described in [Administration](http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Panels)
   > [Options](http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Panels#General) > [General](http://codex.wordpress.org/General_Options_SubPanel).
