    Hi,
I want to create a sitemap for my English website, since my default language is German and it seems that so far only the German versions of my page are crawled by Google. I tried this advice: https://cambodesign.com/yoast-wordpress-seo-sitemap-for-each-language/ and it didn’t work out.
Is there a specific location within the functions.php where I have to insert my code? Or is there a completely different way?
    Thanks in advance!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Can you please confirm what multilingual plugin you are using on your site?

Regarding your functions.php file, unfortunately we can’t offer support on custom code (needed to change (core) features of our plugin). Since we don’t want to take the risk that we break your website by suggesting incorrect or incomplete code, we cannot advise you on how to make such changes. If you aren’t sure where code should be placed in your site’s functions.php file, we would recommend contacting your theme’s developer. Maybe someone watching these forums can assist you further, but if your topic is inactive for 7 days, we’ll mark it as resolved to keep the overview.

However, if you want to create sitemaps with other applications/plugins and then add these to the sitemap index, and we have instructions on how to do this here: https://kb.yoast.com/kb/add-external-sitemap-to-index/
