# Multiple "custom" tabs

 * After some testing it seems that if I add multiple “custom” tabs I just get whichever
one I have defined last multiple times.
 * I assume that this currently works as designed but I’d like to make a feature
request for the future that supports multiple instances of the custom tab type…
each with their own unique configuration. Other than this feature I like the
plugin very much and it works well.

 * How many custom tabs were you thinking? I have a couple other things I am doing
on the plugin and can try to add more custom tabs after it…

 * Thanks for the quick response!
 * I personally needed 4 but it would be great if any custom ones you added had
   their own individual configuration.

 * I wish it were easy to add more, but the current way it is written, it’s not.
I’ll get it though in the next day or two if I don’t run into problems! Thanks

 * I added 3 more custom tabs. Please update to v5.16 and let me know if you have
   any problems. Thanks!

 * Thanks! Added functionality works great. I’m getting an odd issue now though
where the tabs are extended about 20 pixels when the page is first loaded some
of the time. This usually remedies itself after clicking on one of the tabs and
closing it but I don’t think that’s the designed behavior.
 * (Note: I’m positioning to the right but the behavior is the same if I switch
to the left) See this screenshot: [http://cl.ly/image/18272v1v263Z](http://cl.ly/image/18272v1v263Z)
 * I also can’t get any of the “show options” to work. I’d prefer to just show on
the homepage and I’ve tried that checkbox as well as the page-id option but neither
work for me. I switched to a default theme since I suspected a theme conflict,
   but it still isn’t working.

 * I made a few changes over night. I fixed the show on what pages settings. Please
update to 5.17 and let me know if that helped.
 * As for the tabs being 20 px off, part of this update may have fixed it. So try
that first… I see you are using your own tabs. Are the width and height set correctly
under each custom tabs setting? Like if your blue tab is 40px wide, be sure to
put 40 in the width setting for that tab. If it is still not fixed, could you
please send me a link to one of your custom tabs and the settings for width and
height you are using for it so I can try it myself? Thanks!

 * The positioning issue I was having is fixed. Thanks.
 * The “show on what page” settings still don’t work for me. I’ve actually noticed
that sometimes changing any setting causes them not to display. I haven’t found
what triggers them to display again and usually just have to try adjusting several
of the settings back and forth and saving between until they reappear.

 * Hmm.. What version are you using? If the latest, maybe delete the plugin and
reinstall, or check all the boxes, save, then uncheck all except show on front
page, show for guests, and show for logged in.

 * I think I see what I was doing wrong.
 * You need to select what page/post type (Main Page, Pages, Posts, Archives, Feeds,
Search) **AND** what type of user this applies to (guest or logged in)
 * A small change to the admin UI might make this a little more clear.
 * Working great after I selected “show on front page, show for guests, and show
for logged in” like you suggested above.

 * Yea I see what you mean. I will add some clarification to it on the next update.
   Thanks for the great suggestions!

 * I sporadically get this issue where part of the tabs are cut off (in Safari on
a mac). Is this the issue you describe in the read-me fie that you haven’t been
able to solve when the tabs are right aligned?

 * I bet the tabs render to the edge before the page does and thus before the scroll
bars are added to the screen. I will look into a solution tomorrow when I get
   a chance

 * I bet you are right. It sometimes displays correctly (i can force it by clearing
the cache) but once the js is cached it seems to render before the scrollbars
   are added.

 * Well would it help if I added an option to render once at the page load, and
then rerender again after 1 or 2 or 3 seconds after page load?

 * I don’t really need an option. It could always render after the page load and
then think it would never be an issue.
