Multiple Event Sold Emails distributed

I just updated an event to SOLD OUT status by lowering the max number of tickets sold to match what has already been reserved. However, I am now getting multiple emails to me (as admin) that the EVENT is sold out – around 30 emails have been issued to the admin. Is there a setting that I am missing that needs to be changed? I don’t remember this issue happening before. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!
