Multiple logins redirects since changing to https

Hi guys, please help. I’m in a tailspin and I don’t know where to go next.

1) Created a MU setup in root and have only got one site in the network at the moment.
2) Tried to change the http: to an https: with limited success using phpMyAdmin and MU Domain Mapping.
3) Since then, every time I try to log in it worked but then requested another login to enter the dashboard.
4) Looked online and tried the wp-config fixes

I’m totally stuck. I’m told I have a 302 redirect error. Every time I log in, the site’s Navbar doesn’t change to reflect the Logged in status. I have to click the login button and login again to get the WordPress toolbar and then a THIRD time to get into the dashboard!
Someone help! I’ve tinkered so much that I can’t figure out which way is up any more!
