Multiple trackback problems in 2.0

I did search and look through this support forum and Trac and tried a few things, but didn’t find a fix yet… and help will be appreciated.

My client really wants trackbacks to show up a couple of ways:

1. The number of trackbacs should display like Comments do under the post – i.e., “Trackbacks (3)”

2. Trackback excerpts should display on the comments (single.php) page.

I realize #1 can probably be easily added to my template with a simple tag.

#2 is the bigger problem…

For one thing, when I click the Trackback URL, I am sent to a 200 OK error page that says “The page has been moved here” with a link to the permalink. So is the permalink the same thing as the Trackback URL? I didn’t think so, but???

The other thing is that I’ve tried sending Trackbacks from other test blogs (and the client has received legitimate trackbacks from affiliate blogs), but there’s no indication of them in the published blog or the admin section. (In my test blogs, a “URL already pinged” message shows up after sending.) When the client SENDS Trackbacks, they aren’t displaying, but the admin section has a “URL already pinged” message in the Trackbacks module.

I must be doing something wrong. Any ideas? Do I need to post the blog URL for people to see it?
