# Multisite User Registration

 * I have setup a multisite. What I’m trying to do is set it up so they can register
   and just be an Author on one site. I do not need them to create a site. When 
   I do a test register all that I’m allowed to see is a profile dashboard. I can
   not find out how to set it so new registered users can be just an author on 1
   blog on a multisite.
 * The new Admin section is confusing. I use to be able to in the back end of the
   blog just select what I wanted them to be, but I can not find it anymore. So 
   can someone ONLY register to be an auther for one blog on a multisite?

 * This was never built in… but yes it is possible,.
 * they do have to register as a user to the network first. Try this plugin

 * That plugin is great for global registrations where you want new users added 
   to multiple sites at the same time, but what about just for the site they registered
   thru?
 * I believe, this was an option when multisite was a separate entity to wordpress.
   Correct me if I’m wrong, but I thought there was an option to allow logins thru
   the root site OR the site the user was on. Did that option get removed in the
   merging?

 * Custom User Registration Lite will do this — allow users to only sign up for 
   the blog they want to sign up for:

   Unfortunately the “lite” version now breaks the admin bar in 3.3. I haven’t tried
   the paid version.

   Unfortunately it was abandoned several years ago, and as I recall, stopped working
   a while back.
 * If anyone has a suggestion for allowing users to only add themselves to the one
   site they want to join, I’d be very appreciative.

 * Lets hope someone picks up the add users sidebar widget, because as I recall 
   it was pretty simple.
