 * Hi everyone,
    I was working on my company’s website, adding a shortcode in the
   sidebar, and I tried to modify “function.php” after seeing a tutorial on the
   web. I understood in this tutorial that I had to write : add_shortcode(‘name-
   of-the-shortcode’) at the end of the function.php to activate the short code.
   Which I did.
 * I clicked on the ‘button’ “apply the the changes” and then, it freezed… I closed
   the window, tried to open the website to see the modification but the website
   won’t open anymore, there is absolutly no response.
 * I can’t log in admin mode, it doesn’t load at all.
    Is there anything I can do
   to restore my website?
 * Thank you very much if you can help…
    Ps: I think it’s needless to say that i’m
   french, so sorry for my english…

 * you will need to use [FTP ](http://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients)to temporarily
   rename your theme’s folder;
 * this should activate the default theme, and allow you back into the admin area.
 * you can then try to either replace funtions.php with an unedited copy, or to
   repair the error.
 * once that is fixed, you can use FTP to rename your theme’s folder back to the
   original name, and activate your theme again.

 * Thanks a lot for your answer!
    I’ll try that as soon as I find the host name,
   login and password. (I’m not the creator of this website, can’t I avoid asking
   him these things?)
 * Thanks again for this answer alchymyth.
