• I have just upgraded to version 2.1.3.

    On the left hand bar of my home page I sued to get a list of categories – but now the followin error is shown.

    ========
    WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ” at line 1]
    SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM
    =========

    Any ideas on what I should do ?

    Many thanks

  • Call your web host; it sounds like they may have upgraded to a newer(?) version.

    Sorry – I dont understand – a newer version of what?

    I asked them to upgrade WordPress to 2.1.3 – which they did. In response to this error message the hosting site (www.siteground.com) told me that I would need to speak to a MySQL expert – in other worsd “its my problem”….:-(

    Sounds like the problem is more likely to be a theme that’s not compatible with 2.1.x versions of WP.

    For instance, when you tried the Default theme, did you still have the error?
