# MySQL optimization

 * my site [ has been loading increasingly slower. Godaddy, host, reported back 
   to me that I need to back up my SQL database (which I am doing right now) then,
   optimize it.
    Here’s where I blank. I don’t know what that means or how to go
   about that. Would I be wise to use a WP developer to do this for me? If so, where
   would I go to select one?

 * You can do this, kkirk.
 * Look for these plugins:
 * WP Super Cache
 * Autoptimize
 * The first one caches database files so they don’t have to be fetched every time
   a page loads, only after a change has been made to the page.
 * The second one combines your CSS/JS files so they load faster. Google likes that,
   too.
 * You may have to make some changes to some files on your cPanel or on your FTP
   program if you use one. At Hostgator most customer service reps will walk you
   through it. At GoDaddy I would suggest that if one doesn’t or won’t help just
   say thanks and call back and you’ll probably get one that will help.
 * One more thing, after loading these plugins be sure to check your site on ALL
   major browsers!!!
