# mysqli PHP Extension missing

 * Hi,
 * I hope you are doing well. My client has developed his website on PHP7.4 and 
   it was working fine. Later on, I don’t know what happened, its hosting account
   was upgraded to PHP8.1, and the website was not working. I set it back to PHP7.4.
   However, it is still not working and showing me following error:
 * “Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required
   by WordPress.
 * Please check that the `mysqli` PHP extension is installed and enabled.
 * If you are unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host.
   If you still need help you can always visit the [WordPress support forums](https://wordpress.org/support/forums/).”
 * Whereas, other WordPress sites on my server are working fine.
 * Please help how to fix this issue?

   PHP library.

 * Thanks for your reply. Actually, I have hosted this website on my own server 
   and it was working fine before its upgradation to php8.1.

 * Then you have to install the missing libraries. The procedure is different depending
   on which server system you use. If you have any questions, please contact a community
   that supports it.
