 * Hello –
 * I am trying to modify my theme’s header. I want to remove the listing of pages
   from the header section and have them appear only on the right margin of my blog.
   I have been in touch with the developer of my theme, and he has instructed me
   to do the following:
    _ hide it with CSS in your Child Theme — #access {display:
   none;}
 * or remove it completely:
 * // Remove default Thematic actions
    function remove_thematic_actions() { remove_action(‘
   thematic_header’,’thematic_access’,9); } add_action(‘init’,’remove_thematic_actions’);
 * I would prefer to insert the above code directly into my blog. Below are the
   two areas (functions.php and style.css). Where do I insert the code mentioned
   above?
 * ——————————————–
    FUNCTIONS.PHP
 * <?php
 * //
    // Custom Child Theme Functions //
 * // I’ve included a “commented out” sample function below that’ll add a home link
   to your menu
    // More ideas can be found on “A Guide To Customizing The Thematic
   Theme Framework” // [http://themeshaper.com/thematic-for-wordpress/guide-customizing-thematic-theme-framework/](http://themeshaper.com/thematic-for-wordpress/guide-customizing-thematic-theme-framework/)
 * // Adds a home link to your menu
    // [http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_page_menu](http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags/wp_page_menu)//
   function childtheme_menu_args($args) { // $args = array( // ‘show_home’ => ‘Home’,//‘
   sort_column’ => ‘menu_order’, // ‘menu_class’ => ‘menu’, // ‘echo’ => true //);//
   return $args; //} //add_filter(‘wp_page_menu_args’,’childtheme_menu_args’);
 * ?>

 * Add the `#access {display:none;}` line to the end of style.css.

 * Like this? After this line of code?
    —————————————–
 * }
    .wp-smiley { /* Prevent the smileys from breaking line-height */ max-height:
   12px; margin:0 !important; } {display:none;}

 * I solved this as follows:
 * Delete
 * // Create #access
    // In the header div function thematic_access() { ?> <div
   id=”access”> <div class=”skip-link”>”><?php _e(‘Skip to content’, ‘thematic’);?
   ></div> <?php wp_page_menu(‘sort_column=menu_order’) ?> </div><!– #access –>
   <?php } add_action(‘thematic_header’,’thematic_access’,9);
 * from header-extensions.php.
 * header-extensions.php. is found via cPanel, not through the blog dashboard!
