# Need to keep current website running while I re-develop using WordPress

 * Can I initially install WordPress in a sub-directory and then move across to 
   the main site when its ready?
    The reason I need to do this is I am currently
   updating an old clients website (v.old website!) and I have been considering 
   using WordPress. I need to keep the current website running while I re-develop
   using WordPress. As the existing site deals with alot of traffic, I dont want
   anything interfering with it until I get the new wordpress site totally ready.
 *  If I initially get it all setup in a sub folder can I then move it easily to
   take over the existing site when I’m happy with it? Will it mess up the ODBC /
   Access databases on the existing site?
    Will it take any re-jigging? I’m totally
   new to wordpress but it has been strongly recommended to me by a friend and colleague.
