# Network Admin Comment Moderation

 * I’m using a WordPress MultiSite with my learners this year. We’re having some
   spam issues (even with Akismet installed, too much getting through) and I’m wondering
   if I can turn off comments network-wide until I can find a better commenting 
   plugin to use.
 * I’m kind of on a time crunch with this one. I’ve searched the forums thoroughly
   and can’t seem to find a good answer. The closest I’ve gotten is this link

 * But I know _nothing_ about databases and working within them. Thanks for the

 * Do you know if there is a way to clear all current comments on the network? I
   don’t have time to go through everything one by one.
 * Also, I’m thinking about installing reCaptcha to help. Good/bad idea?

 * recaptcha is a bad idea imho – it doesn’t stop spam bots in reality and handicaps
   human visitors
 * to clear all comments at once means delving into the database
 * you can go here
    wp-admin/edit-comments.php on the main blog – click on “Screen
   Options” at top right of page and choose how many to display on page and then
   bulk delete them

 * By “on the main blog,” do you mean on the login portal page?

   I be in that directory in the file manager?

 * No, there isn’t. Not if you;re not comfy diving in databases. My link above is
   the closes you’ll get.
 * Also install cookies for comments (plugin). Yes, it works.

 * No, the guy above was telling you were to go in the admin area – not the file
   system.
 * The comments all live in the database. Not the files.
