# Network dashboard returns server error

 * I have a multisite network of 5 sites where I am the only user (and the super
   admin). Everything has been running smoothly, except now I can’t access the Network
   Admin Dashboard. When I try, the browser says:
 * > Server error
   >  The website encountered an error while retrieving [http://&#8230](http://&#8230);
   > It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly. Here are some suggestions:
   > Reload this webpage later. [thanks, right?] HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server
   > Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting
   > to fulfill the request.
 * I can, however, visit each individual site’s dashboard.
 * The database shows my username in the site_admins field, displaying this:
    `a:
   1:{i:0;s:4:"root";}` But in the users menu of a site dashboard it says that my
   role is administrator, not “super admin”
 * I’ve tried creating a new user and setting that username in site_admins, but 
   I get the same problem. 🙁
 * Can anyone help ?

 * Things generally only ‘suddenly’ break when you upgrade, so start there 🙂
