Neve theme not working

    Hey dear community,

    I’ve been creating websites with Neve and Elementor for a while now, just like this website.
    However, this time there seems to be a problem with the Neve theme, because as soon as I try to open my website, I get the familiar white screen (WSOD) – if I then activate Elementor (all other plugins are deactivated), I also get an error message (see picture).


    Other themes such as Hestia work perfectly.
    I have fixed this error myself many times, but this time I am really desperate.
    Here is some general information:

    • Neve version: 4.0.1
    • Elementor version: 3.28.3
    • PHP version: 8.1.32
    • max_execution_time: 120
    • memory_limit: 256M
    • cURL-Version: 7.88.1

    Hi,

    Thank you for sharing this. So far, we are not able to replicate something similar.

    Usually when a critical error happens on a site, the administrator of the site gets an email with more details, including what is the actual critical error message. In case you got such an email, can you please share the message here?

    Hi,

    Thank you very much for the quick reply!
    Unfortunately, no email was sent to the administrator for this error.
    All I know so far is that it seems to be due to the Neve theme, as other themes (such as Hestia) work.
    I’m currently reinstalling WordPress, luckily it hasn’t been that much progress yet 😅
    I have already tried to activate debugging – but without success (WordPress does not want to create a debug.log file, even manual creation did not help – file permissions are correct).
    If you (or anyone else) has any solutions (I don’t think reinstalling will help, but never know), please share 🙂

    Hi Black Storm,

    Unfortunately we are not able to replicate this, to understand if the issue is coming from the theme or not.

    If you can share a https://tastewp.com/ instance or something similar where we could access the backend, where this issue is replicable, we’ll be happy to have a look.

    Oh sorry, I forgot about that 😅

    The error does not exist on the page, however, the Neve theme also works on my main page, only on the page http://scnx-community.helmut-adventures.com it does not want to work.

    Hi,

    Thank you for sharing the details. However, if I’m not able to see the issue replicated there, unfortunately there is nothing I can help with.

    If the error is visible just on one of your site’s pages, there is a chance that something saved improperly there, in the database. So, you can just try to recreate it.

    I’ll try deleting/resetting the database and see if that helps (I’ll update again) 🙂

    Hi rodicaelena,

    I have now deleted my database and reinstalled WordPress – it was my last hope because of the progress, but anyway, the main thing is that it works now 🙂
    Unfortunately, I don’t yet know what the problem was (faulty plugin, …), I just hope that this error doesn’t happen to me at the end of my progress 😅
