I’m sorry you are having issues. I created a video showing how to replicate your ticker in the new Ditty: https://www.loom.com/share/2040103284514f95bc7cb0cbeb24136c
If for some reason the ticker isn’t just showing up by default when creating a Ditty you may have a javascript error happening in your dashboard.
The documentation is still in process and will be getting better. I’m just a solo developer who doesn’t currently have the time to dedicate to all the various aspects of a plugin of this size and scope, but I’m trying 🙂
You can also still utilize the old Ditty News Ticker if you’d prefer to keep using that. Go to Ditty > Settings > Advanced and select “Enable Ditty News Ticker (Legacy code)” and save. You’ll need to refresh the page and you’ll see it as a submenu item of Ditty.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
The video was a great help. Thanks!
Maybe in future versions that style of ticker could be included as one of the standards.
I do like that the ticker now repeats rather than traveling the screen before repeating and the little fade in thing for the whole ticker is not a bad thing.
Just freaked me out that I couldn’t get it without setting all those options – since this is what the customer wants.
No problem. There are quite a few more options with the new Ticker Display, but the only difference between the new Ditty Ticker (default template) and the old ticker is I have set a max width for each item. Now that you have updated the Ticker Display your other Ditty Tickers can/will have the same settings/style. Each Display and Layout (which are attached to each item) is actually a separate post so you can create easily select the same style/settings for future Ditty.
I will be creating more Display and Layout presets at some point. I’m not sure if they’ll be included directly in the plugin, or just available to download/import from my site.
