New Link Format, Redirects, Post ID's Help!

Hey guys,

I’ve posted a bit about this previously but have never really managed to get a definitive answer.

We’ve got a gaming website. We’re currently making a new version under a different domain. Once it’s complete we will be moving the old domain (.com) to the new website. I have a few questions regarding redirects that I could REALLY use some help with.

The new version has a different link structure, all new categories and tags. The content of most of the posts have been changed but we haven’t changed the URL field outside of changing the structure. Will I need to manually add redirects on all the posts?

Also, we were very tag happy on the old version of the site. We’ve got hundreds of tags that only relate to a single article. Is it best to redirect those to a closely related article or just leave them to the 404 page?

Any help with the above would be hugely appreciated!

Another problem I’ve just discovered. The old website is still getting new posts added on a regular basis but we haven’t added these to the new website yet. However, the new website has some posts that aren’t on the old one.

As such post ID’s no longer match and I was wondering what the best solution would be?

I’d really appreciate any info!
