# New Text Widget breaks Shortcode

 * A user of our plugin, CongressLookup, contacted us to say it worked in posts

 * He was entering our shortcode into the Visual Editor part of the new Text Widget.
   I found that the on-page code for my plugin had HTML paragraphs within the JavaScript.
   I had him try the Text area and still no love. He solved it by using the HTML
   widget.

 * By default, the text widget does not (and has not) supported shortcodes. You 
   can enable that with a little bit of code.
