Never got an email. * Tried a new registration myself and the same, got no email. WordPress claimed success but nothing came. * The ‘general’ settings were anyone could register and my email was a local email on the server, from that domain. I checked it and found no mail there at all. * I changed that email address to my yahoo address and tried another registration. No good. Nothing. * Is this something to do with WordPress and how I’ve configured it or is it something to do with my Domain Host? * Also in general settings I’ve got the ‘wordpress address’ and the ‘site address’ as the same. I don’t really understand what the significance of those two are. Read the posts pointed to in the six and five year old thread where they talked about a bug amongst a whole scad of other things. Told me they reckon it is a wordpress bug. * Six years old? They don’t have it sorted yet? I should follow all these five/ six year old directions trying to make it work? * Well… IT WORKED! Grouchy old bugger that I am. It’s not a bug – it’s a hosting issue 2. The solution/explanation is still valid. * With regard to your existing accounts, you could delete each one and then re- register it – ensuring that the “send copy” checkbox is ticked. I’ll copy your remarks to my host.. they might take some notice and help out others in future – you’d think they’d be keen to, wouldn’t you, how many hundreds of wordpress blogs will attempt to get up on their servers? * Actually I caught it early – I got a complaint – there’s only one registrant that I know of. I can get back to that one. Perhaps I can change passwords? No? Well delete and restart. * I was told by my host after their investigation that they could see new registrants had been registered but emails had not been sent – when I looked I failed to see any new registrants in there – apart from those I’d created myself. In particular I failed to see this new registrant the subject of the complaint. * So I’m doubtful that anyone else has tried to register, I’m doubtful that one did it properly, I’m doubtful that it sent emails prior to this – well I know it didn’t. * But it is all okay now. Using gmail is okay with me. Those who register using yahoo or gmail cannot receive passwords. Cannot send test emails to any yahoo or gmail accounts. * I’m using WordPress Version 3.2.1.
