Good news & bad news with latest version:
Good news > the images get resized by EWWW & Imsanity plugins, works great.
Bad news > Google Images scraping option is missing many more images compared to previous plugin version, resulting in “No Image” for the post. Tried adjusting different options and experimenting but still many missed images on common words. Wonder why?
Noticed when try to re-generate images for posts with no images, it does not find any new images unless the cache (using WP Fastest Cache plugin) is cleared before trying to find/generate new images. This is in the wp admin > posts > check-box/bulk > generate images for selected posts

This is strange because the scraping method didn’t change.
How many fail do you have? About 10%, 30%, 50 % ?
now 2.4.10.
I want the V3 pro version, where can you download it?
You should see it under Updates.
Otherwise, you can still download it with your login on https://users.freemius.com/login
@alexandre Google image scrape is failing about 60% now, before it was probably around 5%-10%. I will download previous version so I can test and see if scraping works better… Thanks

Feature suggestion: In the WP admin dashboard > Posts > In the list of the posts in the admin view, it would be handy to have a magic post “regenerate” image link on each post listing and new image would be generated without going back and forth to an image upload status page and then back to the posts. Not a big deal such a feature might be useful.
Magic Post Thumbnail works well with the Quick Featured Images plugin. Quick Featured Images lets admin see image thumbs in the wp admin dashboard > posts > view thumbs in the list of posts.
I tested previous version of plugin and the Google image scrape was missing more images than before as well. So maybe Google changed something.
Good news!
I tried the Google Image API option and it is working great now. I made a stupid mistake when I entered the custom search engine ID. I copied and pasted it from the Google dev console over to the magic post settings and I did not realize that there was a space both before and after the characters in the ID. When I removed the blank space in the beginning and end then saved that the Google Images API option for magic post works like a champ so far.
Thanks for your help with the API tutorial.
@wordmax When I developed the v3 plugin, there were no such failed results, so yes I think that Google changed something recently: I will check deeply why and try to fix that for the next version.
About the feature suggestion, did you tried the rewrite option ? It’s into the settings (Rewrite existing images). If you check the option, and then generate images, it will regenerate images even if there is already one.
Happy to see that Google API tutorial still works!
Sorry, I ended up answering your question in the wrong topic. Now I answered on the right topic (https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/cannot-generate-images-anymore/#post-12399661). I really appreciate the help.

@wordmax I’ve uploaded a new version which should fix the problem with google scraping method.
Google scraping working again w/ 3.1 thanks.
Google image API stopped working w/ 3.1 so I tried v 3.0 and Google image API works ok.
Thanks for the updates.
