# Newcomer REALLY Needs Help…

 * Hi all,
 * I currently host a blog on WordPress.com but I am looking to move up.
 * I have bought the domain from GoDaddy.com and synced it with WordPress.com (therefore
   eliminating the ‘wordpress’ name from my site’s address).
 * I have the basic questions for a newcomer…
 * Do I buy the host and then type in MY domain?
 * Will my site automatically switch over?
 * I will continue to edit my blog like I do now (in terms of controls, editing,
   imaging, etc.)?
 * I just need the CORRECT steps to get started. Thank you in advance.

 * You mean you have the domain name you bought redirect to your WP.com site?
 * You want to by hosting and use your own WP install, then?
 * Probably start with a web search of “switching from wordpress.com to wordpress.
   org” and get some insight on what you’re in for.
 * Not a big deal, I’m sure you can figure it out, and get help hear if you get 
   stuck.

 * Yes – I redirected my WordPress.com blog to a domain that I bought.
