Newspaper x missing widgets

    Hi there!

    During import of Newspaper-x widgets I received some error message, but of course I did not pay attention. After working some hours on the site, I realized, that I don’t have the Posts, News ticker and Related Posts widgets.

    I tried reimporting the widgets file, but got an error msg again.

    Is there any way I can import only selected ones? If not, how do I solve this problem?

    Sorry to hear of the problem you are having.

    Could you please tell me how you are importing the widgets and what error you are getting so that i can troubleshoot it?

    Sure, thanks Vinod!

    So, after the install I got the instructions to import the content and widgets.
    I was following the instructions and I don’t really remember the steps, but content and widgets seemingly got imported with a few errors I didn’t really care about. (After realizing my links in posts don’t work on mobile, I found out on an emulator, that the sidebar widgets are causing the link trouble, and only then I realized it might be, because there are widgets missing from the bottom of posts. Hope this makes sense 🙂 )

    The next time I tried importing widgets with the “Widget Importer & Exporter” in the Tools menu. The widgets I already had got imported again with the missing ones still missing.

    After I saw your message, I tried the “Widget Importer & Exporter” again with the newspaper-x-widgets.wie file. The results:

    You can manage your Widgets or Go Back.

    orphaned_widgets_1 Widget area does not exist in theme (using Inactive)

    The widgets I mentioned before are still missing, and of course I don’t have the options to add related posts to posts, or edit the appearance of posts.

    Is it only because I’m using a wrong widget file?

    When importing the widgets you have to make sure that you have activated the Newspaper x theme on your site.

    Also could you please try adding the missing widgets in the widget area in Widgets screen?

    Hi Vinod,

    After your message I watched a video of colorlib’s Newspaper-x tutorials, and realized that my theme is as it is supposed to be.

    My last question now is: Can I change the labels anywhere for “Latest news” at the top,”Related posts” and “Tags” in posts? Other parts of the site are now in my native language but I can’t seem to find where to change these, only the option to turn them on/off.

    You have to translate the theme to change them as described in the following page.
