@thomsonson – What are you referring to with “Auto thickbox”?

@thomsonson – I would suggest taking up concerns with that Lightbox with the author of that plugin as we do not support third-party plugins/extensions that are used with NextGEN Gallery that do not work as wanted.

I’ve just tried taking out the Auto thickbox Plus plugin and using only Nextgen Gallery, but I am having the same issue – with galleries using Basic thumbnails, the enlarged images work fine (next/back links and counter):

and where galleries are set to use Basic image browser, these functions are not working:

(this is a copy installation of the site on another server – everything else is the same, including WordPress version – 4.1.1 and Nextgen version 2.0.79)
@thomsonson – Although I suspect there is something still not quite right with the Lightbox Effect you are using I am not seeing any real issues with the NextGEN Gallery functionality itself.

hi thanks for the response and sorry for the delay.. I have tried revisiting this issue, and setting Nextgen to use it’s own included lightbox settings (in this case, the Thickbox), however I am seeing the same problem..
This page uses Basic Thumbnails, and the lightbox shows the correct image count and back/next: getofftheweb.org/letrangere/artist/filip-berendt/

thanks for replying. I inserted the galleries into my posts using the green nextgen button on the visual post editor. Is there another way to insert galleries that you could suggest?

In addition to inserting the album using the visual editor, I have tried inserting it using the following shortcode:

but for some reason the images do not display at all
@thomsonson – The single image Lightbox view is expected with ImageBrowser in general but if you were using the Pro Lightbox included with NextGEN Plus or NextGEN Pro then all of the gallery images would be included.
As to the issue with the second inserted ImageBrowser display via a shortcode, I am not able to reproduce that issue myself, it might be pointing to a conflict elsewhere …

Thanks, I have now purchased and installed nextgen plus, however this is casing me another problem.
I have set lightbox effects under ‘other options’ to use the the Pro Lightbox and installed a Basic Image browser on the following post:

The image browser and lightbox both work as expected, but the main menu at the top of the page now disappears after briefly loading. Other elements on the page also don’t load properly. This is happening with all posts where I have deployed a Nextgen gallery (it does not occur on posts and pages without Nextgen galleries).
I realise that conflicts with themes and plugins can arise, but would really appreciate any suggestions as to a solution as it will be very difficult to move to a new theme on this site..
