@aloys de Vries – NextGEN Gallery no longer bundles the jQuery Lightbox it once did due to non-GPL compatibilities issues that were brought to our attention by the WordPress plugins team. We were asked to remove it from the plugin … and we did.
Our apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Ok, thank you for the answer.
And is there a possibility to have the two plugins working together, manually by me, as the admin?
Or is the only solution now to change from Nextgen to another Gallery-plugin that does support the lightbox-effect?
I mean, a gallery without lightbox is like a car without wheels, isn’t it?
@aloys de Vries – There are still four other bundled Lightbox libraries with NextGEN Gallery that do work and an option to use your own Custom Lightbox library as well … I’m not sure I am understanding your question of needing to change.

Thank you Cais, it’s getting more clear for me now…
I have to change to another Lightbox plugin, is it something I have to config from the Nextgen plugin-settings?
I will try to figure that out!
@aloys de Vries – The Lightbox settings are found under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects

Thank you, I found it!
Thanks again, you were very helpfull!!
@aloys de Vries – Thanks for the update.

Hi there!
I have the same problem. Could you tell me how you managed to solve it? Your galleries looks good now, while mina (simonmogren.se) are opening the picture in a new window.
@coalcandy – It may also be best for you to start your own topic so we can help you with the specifics of the issue you are seeing on your site.
Thanks!
– Cais.
@coalcandy – The Lightbox settings are found under Gallery > Other Options > Lightbox Effects
There you choose what effect you want, the first option is the “normal” Lightbox-effect!
@aloys de Vries – Thanks for sharing.

Ahhh, thanks. Does’nt seems to be working for me though – no matter what I choose still get the images in a new window. But thanks for the advice. I’ll look in to it futher or start an own topic on the matter I guess.
@coalcandy – Yes, please do start a new topic if you are not able to resolve this issue on your site.
Thanks!
