 * Can you please let us know if you are using WordFence security plugin fro your
   site?
 * WordFence adds rules to your domain’s .htaaccess file and at least one of them
   may restrict NextGen Gallery’s uploading feature:
 * `“Disable Code Execution for Uploads directory”`
 * You will need to login by FTP to your domain’s file server, edit the .htaaccess
   file from your domain’s root and look into it to see if it doesn’t contain the
   above line ( if it contains, please temporarily remove it, save the file then
   try to upload images via NextGen again )

 * I am not using that plugin

 * Please try deactivating all of your plugins, clearing your browser cache (and
   site caches if you are using a caching plugin), then reactivating the NextGEN
   Gallery plugin.
 * If this fixes the problem it was likely one of the deactivated plugins causing
   the issue. Now, retrace your steps activating each plugin (one at a time) and
   re-checking to see if the problem returns. If it does then that last activated
   plugin was probably the one. Keep reactivating the plugins as it is also best
   to keep checking after each plugin. Sometimes there may be more than one plugin
   on a site that will create an issue. If you do find one (or more) plugins causing
   this problem, we would greatly appreciate your feedback on them so that our developers
   can address them.
 * Also to note, in rare cases, it may be the theme itself that is causing a conflict
   so while you have just the NextGEN plugin activated, you might consider temporarily
   switching to one of the WordPress Twenty series themes and see if this corrects
   the issue.

 * Using Healthcheck I disabled all the plugins exc Nextgen. Same error message.
   Healthcheck switches the theme 2020. Any other suggestions?

 * [@garyartista](https://wordpress.org/support/users/garyartista/), can you check
   the domain’s root folder to make sure that it doesn’t contain any “index.html”
   file?
 * Also, please open the browser’s Console when the images uploading fails to see
   if you are getting any JS issues and let us know.

 * There is no index.html file. Image uploading is working. That error message occurred
   while I was creating a post and had added an image. I tried to duplicate the
   error message without success.

 * Ignore that last message. I was thinking of another issue.
 * All I can say is that there is no index.html file. Image uploading is working
   at this time.

 * Oh, sorry about the confusion ref the image upload. So you are now being able
   to insert a gallery using the block editor too?

 * I am still getting the runtime error when I try to insert Nextgen
 * It looks
 * RuntimeException thrown
    /srv/disk8/1920671/www/garyartista.co.nf/wp-content/
   plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_admin/templates/
   field_generator/nextgen_settings_field_radio.php is not a valid MVC template
 * On the upload images page WITHIN NEXTGEN, Your browser doesn’t have Silverlight,
   HTML5, or HTML4 support.
 * Earlier when you asked about upload images I took it to refer to uploading to
   the mediate library.
 * When I try to add an image from the libary, the effort fails, with no error message,
   just returns to the Add gallery/image page.
 * On that page it says “Google Fonts for WordPress must be active for this plugin
   to function. Install now.” I do not recall this being a requirement. Is it?
 * thanks

 * Hello [@garyartista](https://wordpress.org/support/users/garyartista/),
 * Let’s first check if your environment meets our requirements:
    [https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/](https://www.imagely.com/docs/requirements/)
 * If everything is ok, the next step will be to remove our plugin and re-install
   a fresh copy.
 * You mentioned that you already check for existing conflicts with Health Check.
   Nevertheless, some installations could keep some cache in the background.
    Please,
   try the following:
 * 1.- Temporarily deactivate all your plugins except NextGen Gallery.
    2.- Is
   the problem solved? Then, it was caused by one of your plugins. Please check
   one by one and find the one causing the problem. 3.- If the problem is not solved
   with the deactivation of the plugins, try changing to a standard WordPress theme,
   it could be a conflict with your current theme.
 * Note: We recommend performing a full website backup before any troubleshooting.
 * If the problem persists, Mihai explained that something could be off with your.
   htaccess file. Even if you don’t have a security plugin active at the moment,
   they usually make modifications to that file, and it gets messy.
 * Please, let us know if that worked for you.
    We are happy to help!

 * Nextgen has been working for several years. started having this problem after
   I tried a plugin to compress images. That caused a lot of problems and finally
   I had to reinstall WP.
 * PHP version 7.3 or greater YES
    MySQL version 5.6 or greater YES HTTPS support
   YES (I do not have it) The mod_rewrite Apache module – I see this in htaccess
 * <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
 * PHP Safe Mode turned OFF YES
    At least 250MB memory allowed YES 30MB or larger
   upload limit YES 30MB or larger post limit YES
 * I’ve deactivated the other plugins and switched to 2020 theme. No luck.
 * As for htaccess, since I reinstalled WP doesn’t that gives me a new version?
   I have installed no security plugin since then unless Jetpack counts. The file
   is quite bare.
 * wp content is 755

 * Hello [@garyartista](https://wordpress.org/support/users/garyartista/),
 * We’d like to take a closer look at error message. We may need to temporarily
   deactivate plugins and switch the theme while troubleshooting. Would you feel
   OK with that? If so, please send us a bug report here: [http://www.imagely.com/report-bug](http://www.imagely.com/report-bug),
   refer back to this forum thread and let them know Gaby referred you.
 * Many Thanks.

 * Ok to switch them and deactivate. I have done that many times lately. I also
   had a problem with Jetpack accelerator. Images showed in the editor but not on
   the website. Deactivating accelerator solved that problem.

 * Interesting, and totally off the wall, but I get a similar but different error
   when I go to reuse a page that has an existing gallery in it. For context, I’m
   uploading galleries and linking them to pages for a chronological gallery format
   for something. So there’s a page for 2018, January and 2018, February, etc. The
   format for each month is identical so I designed the first one and then I duplicate
   it for the subsequent months, edit them for title, open the gallery, change to
   the next month’s gallery, and close.
 * If for some reason I change something else in there, when I go to close out,
   it tells me the same type error — the template doesn’t exist or isn’t valid.
   When I open the gallery back up, and go to the CUSTOMIZE DISPLAY OPTIONS tab,
   choose my template, the problem seems to be the link to the template.
 * Instead of highlighting one of the existing default templates, which might be
   a legacy view for instance, it is instead trying to send me to a complicated
   URL like the one above that says blahblahblahblah\blahblahblah\template.php.
   In other words, instead of linking to template.php and it using the envt variables
   to know where that is stored, it has created some sort of “extra” option in the
   dropdown menu to the same template but with the full URL showing. I change it
   back to the default drop down option (same template, just properly named), and
   it works again.
 * It’s not serious enough for me to open a ticket, and it isn’t consistent, it
   just seems like sometimes when it saves, it tries to save the FULL url instead
   of just the dropdown menu option and then generate it later.
 * I doubt it is related to the problem you’re having, I only mention it in case
   it triggers something for you to tweak. For me, it’s almost the same wording,
   but a very simple fix each time to just reset the template to the proper one
   on the page.

 * Dear PolyWogg
 * Does not ring any bells for me either. For me the entire plugin is useless at
   this point. I still have the galleries I’ve made but can not use them at all.
